The Jewish Encyclopedia
of Western Pennsylvania
A project of the Rauh Jewish Archives at the Heinz History Center
The Jewish Encyclopedia of Western Pennsylvania is designed to be a useful starting point for researching the Jewish history of Western Pennsylvania. It provides documentation of hundreds of Jewish organizations, communities, events, people, families and businesses throughout the region. Although this project is extensive and continually growing, it is not comprehensive and does not measure the importance or significance of any particular subject. Entries are chosen based on the availability of research materials at the Rauh Jewish Archives and at other public repositories.
