Freda Silver LaVictorie was born in Russia and immigrated to Jeannette, Pa., with her family at the age of seven. She became a dentist but wrote throughout her life and self-published a volume of poems and reminisces called “Who Sing and Spring” in 1970. This selection of poems described her travels to Jeannette and her members of Jewish life in the borough, including the founding of Chevra Sholom Congregation.
