Temple Beth Israel in Sharon regular battled deficits as it created its budget each year. The congregation regularly distributed a Fair Share Guide to help members plan contributions. In 1988, the congregation needed each member unit to pay $617 per year to balance the budget, up from an average of $585 the year before.
