In his interview,Congregation B’nai Abraham (Butler, Pa.) member Phil Terman recalls growing up in Cleveland, Ohio, his memory of learning to walk, and his mother teaching him how to write a bike. Terman also discusses his Russian and Polish lineage. He recalls growing up in a Conservative Jewish household that kept kosher but recalls rebelling against the authoritative parts of Judaism. He discusses using poetry to talk about his life, family, and work. Terman talks about receiving an education at Ohio University and Ohio State, his marriages, and adoption.
