The class of 1916-1917 at the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy organized a testimonial dinner in honor of Julius Arnold Koch, who was celebrating his 25th year as dean of the school. The student body selected Philip Ellovich to speak on their behalf at the event. At the dinner, Ellovich sat next to University of Pittsburgh Chancellor John G. Bowman.
