Temple B’nai Israel in East Liverpool, Ohio, which later became Congregation Beth Shalom through a merger, was designed in a Byzantine style, with an engraving of the Ten Commandment embedded in the façade. The synagogue is just down Fifth Street from the Newell Bridge, a private toll bridge connecting East Liverpool to Newell, West Virginia.
