Barnesboro, Pa. was a central meeting area for Jews living in boroughs and townships throughout northern Cambria County and neighboring counties. A group of Jewish families in the area chartered B’nai Israel Congregation in 1920 and built a synagogue on Maple Avenue in 1927.
