The Tab Men


The Tab Men was a collective formed in May 1921 to promote contemporary art and artists in Pittsburgh. Its members included E. M. Ashe, Clifford Adams Bayard, James C. Boudreau, Donald Dohner, Joseph Bailey Ellis, W. J. Hyatt, Berthold Nebel, Malcolm and Evens Parcell, Samuel Rosenberg, Raymond Simboli, D. Frank Sullivan, Christ Walters, and William Wolfson. The Tab Men held two exhibits, at the J. J. Gillespie Gallery in November 1921 and at the Irene Kaufmann Settlement House in January 1922.
