Jennie Stern

Jennie Stern (????-????) attended Central High School and Schenley High School in the 1910s. She studied illustration at the Carnegie Institute of Technology, graduating in 1922. While in college, she was active with a Jewish student group on campus called the Menorah Society, serving as recording secretary and as treasurer.

She was an instructor at the Irene Kaufmann Settlement House Neighborhood Art School in the late 1920s with Samuel Rosenberg, William Shulgold, Frank Vittor, and Armando del Cimmuto, while exhibiting with the Associated Artists of Pittsburgh. She married James Harris in 1928 but divorced in early 1936, leading to a publicized custody battle.
