District Lodge No. 3 of the Independent Order of B’nai B’rith was established in Philadelphia in 1856. It eventually came to include lodges in Delaware, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. The first lodge in the western half of the district was Jericho Lodge No. 44, established in Pittsburgh in 1862. The region eventually grew to include as many as 92 lodges in approximately 60 cities and towns throughout Western Pennsylvania and West Virginia. The accompanying spreadsheet lists the names, numbers and locations of those lodges, as well as information about their installation and closing dates and notes about mergers and name changes.
