Meyer Barron (c.1868-1943) immigrated to Mount Pleasant, Pa. from his native Russia about 1901. He was a peddler and later a junk dealer. With his wife Bessie, he had nine children, Sarah, Mary, Louis, Lena, David, William, Rose, Blanche and Morris.
The four boys all started businesses in nearby towns. Morris Barron ran a used car lot in Mount Pleasant. Louis Barron opened the Hollywood Shop clothing store in Connellsville, Pa. David and William Barron ran a department store in Masontown, Pa.
William Barron married Ida Shaffer, who was from the Hill District of Pittsburgh. They lived in Masontown for several years before moving to Uniontown, Pa. They had three children, a daughter, Myrna Sheila, and twin boys, Richard Allen and Robert Michael.
Myrna Barron married Jerome Giannopoulos of Uniontown. Myrna Giannopoulous was the first woman elected to be president of Tree of Life Congregation in Uniontown.
