With membership declining, Congregation B’nai Zion in Farrell and Temple Beth Israel in Sharon negotiated a merger in 1972. These minutes from a special board meeting show what issues the two congregations discussed as they considered a merger, including the hiring of an Orthodox cantor for High Holiday services.
