Stark describes family history in New York and Western Pennsylvania, family laundry business and involvement in socialist politics, his schooling at Taylor Allderdice High School and the University of Pittsburgh. Memoir describes his involvement in numerous communal ventures including Big Brother-Big Sisters, United Jewish Federation, City of Hope, Montefiore Hospital, Civic Light Opera, United Way, Bidwell Training Center, the Israel Heritage Room, and Point Park College.
