Chevra Aguadas Achim in Punxsutawney, Pa. was running a daily religious school as early as 1906. In 1924, the local chapter of the National Council of Jewish Women started a new religious school operation under the auspices of the Southwestern District of Pennsylvania Jewish Religious Schools program.
