“An Autobiography: “One Man’s Family: A View From the Bottom,” by Jack Belkin. Author describes childhood in Homewood, Mt. Washington, and the East End in the 1930s and 1940s. Attendance at Cargo Elementary School, Prospect Elementary School, and Peabody High School. Involvement with A.Z.A. and the Intercultural Youth Council in the 1940s. Describes work and home life of his immigrant Jewish parents as well as his own work experience at Schiller’s Pharmacy in Shadyside. Typescript, 51 pages.
