Dora Davis grew up in Uniontown before the Jewish community founded either of its congregations. She offered memories of her life in the town in a letter to Dr. Jacob Rader Marcus of the American Jewish Archives in Cincinnati. Marcus was born in Connellsville and raised in Homestead.
