As part of an effort to establish a B’nai B’rith lodge in every town in western Pennsylvania with a Jewish population, Richard Rauh and Edward Hemple traveled to Connellsville in January 1916 to establish a lodge. The lodge included members from nearby Mt. Pleasant and Scottdale.
