Selection of stories written by Anna B. Heldman, based on her experiences as a nurse with the Irene Kaufmann Settlement House. Stories include “Old Maid,” “A Stormy Life,” “No Luck,” “A Daughter of the Levites,” “Breach of Promise,” “The Last Laugh,” and “The Untamed Shrew” (incomplete). Stories believed to be early draft of an unpublished manuscript titled “The Neighbors’ Tales.” Introductory pages include correspondence between Dena J. Epstein and Michael Pipoly, explaining the provenance of the stories and the involvement of Epstein’s mother Hilda Satt Polacheck. Typescript, English, 61 pages.
