Tree of Life Sisterhood 60th anniversary history script.  The script captures 60 years of Tree of Life Sisterhoods’ history, including its founding in 1899; its first fundraising bazaar; the Synagogues move to Craft Avenue in 1905; Rabbi Herman Hailperin’s tenure; activities during the Depression; Tree of Life Sisterhood community service during the 1936 flood; its first Thanksgiving Dance; sale of war bonds during World War II; Tree of Life Sisterhoods’ $35,000 pledge to the new Synagogue in Squirrel Hill; its first Sisterhood Sabbath in 1949; purchase of Craft Avenue building by the Pittsburgh Playhouse in 1951; Tree of Life Sisterhoods’ fulfillment of their $35,000 pledge.
