Chicora is a borough in Butler County. It was settled around 1830 and incorporated in 1855.
Simon Frankel was elected postmaster of Chicora in 1898. He relocated to the East End of Pittsburgh a few years later after one of his daughters married a local merchant.
Max and Jennie (Silverblatt) Rosenblatt opened a general store in Chicora as early as 1917 and later started the Max Rosenblatt Scrap Iron Co. which operated for decades. They had two children, Leonard Rosenblatt and Sarah Rosenblatt.
Hyman and Anna (Rosen) Friedlander were involved in the scrap business in Chicora.
